Father Ovidio Duarte

Spiritual Guide and Support Initiatives advisor


Father Ovidio is a founding member of Mesa de la Misericordia and serves as its spiritual guide and support initiatives advisor since its foundation in 2018.  Father Duarte, has been pastor of the San Antonio Maria Claret Parish and Church in Maracaibo, Venezuela since 2003 where he has focused on the development of Family Pastoral, Missionary and Charitable activities and media development for the Parish and Archdiocese of Maracaibo, one of the largest catholic dioceses in the country.


Father Ovidio, was ordained as a Diocesan Priest in 1981. He has performed important functions within the Archdiocese of Maracaibo, Parish Vicar of the Basilica of Our Lady of Chiquinquirá, Pastor of the parishes of Our Lady of Carmen as well as the parish of Our Lady of Caridad del Cobre; and of the Church of Our Lady of Mercedes.


Father Ovidio Duarte did postgraduate studies in Social Communication, in Rome, Italy between the years 1988 and 1992 and carried out his pastoral service after graduating in different communities in Southern Italy.


María Alejandra (Mañaña) Fernández de García

Operations director


Mañaña was part of the leadership team of the Family Pastoral ministry of the San Antonio Maria Claret Parish in Maracaibo, member of the Archdiocesan Schools Civil Association, member of the Restructuring Commission of the Archdiocese of Maracaibo, and instrumental in founding and operating the original Mesa de la Misericordia kitchen and humanitarian food distribution at the Claret Parish in Maracaibo, Venezuela.


María Alejandra is a Civil Engineer graduated 1985 with a longtime dedication to industrial and trade activities, as an entrepreneur, linked to the construction industry. Maria Alejandra has been married for 35 years, is the mother of 3 children and the grandmother of a grandson.


Maria Alejandra currently resides in Midland, Texas, where she is an active member of the community and multiple faith organizations.


Eleazar Terán

Finance and Administration director


Eleazar, originally from Venezuela, has been living in Miami for the past 15 years and is actively involved in many humanitarian and faith driven initiatives that provide support for many Latin American diasporas based in South Florida as well as their communities of origin, initially for Venezuela but now expanding to other countries in Latin America.


Mr. Terán is a successful entrepreneur originally from Caracas, Venezuela, part of the founding group of an accounting and administration software service provider for the small and medium with more than 25 years of business activity in Venezuela and other Latin American countries. 

Manuel Núñez

Institutional Relations director


Manuel, born in Venezuela, has lived for over 30 years in the United States and has been an active member of the community in Miami where he has participated in many faith based humanitarian initiatives.


These initiatives have focused on Food and Medicines supply, Medical and Social Development missions in support to many Latin American communities throughout the region, as well as their diasporas based in South Florida.


Mr. Nunez is a Business and Marketing professional, with more than 25 years of experience in corporate and entrepreneurial roles in the  Payments Industry worldwide.
